Gear: Spyderco Endura 4 with Combo Blade

The Spyderco Endura 4 with Combo Blade is a popular folding knife that has been praised for its versatility and durability. However, as with any product, there are both pros and cons to consider before purchasing. In this blog post, we will explore the advantages and disadvantages of the Spyderco Endura 4 with Combo Blade.

Category: Gear

Weight: 3.6 oz

Price Range: $130+

Pros:

Versatility: The Spyderco Endura 4 with Combo Blade has a partially serrated edge that can be used for a wide range of tasks, from slicing through tough materials like rope or cardboard to cleanly cutting through softer materials like fruits or vegetables. This combination blade design makes it an excellent all-around knife. Durability: The Spyderco Endura 4 with Combo Blade is made with high-quality materials, including a VG-10 steel blade and a fiberglass-reinforced nylon handle. This makes it a durable knife that can withstand heavy use and abuse. Lightweight: Despite its durability, the Spyderco Endura 4 with Combo Blade is lightweight, weighing in at just 3.6 ounces. This makes it easy to carry in a pocket or backpack without adding extra weight or bulk. Ergonomic design: The knife has an ergonomic design that makes it comfortable to hold and use, even for extended periods of time. The handle has a textured pattern that provides a secure grip, and the blade has a thumb hole that allows for easy, one-handed opening.

Cons:

Price: The Spyderco Endura 4 with Combo Blade is not the most affordable folding knife on the market. It is priced higher than some other models, which may be a drawback for those on a tight budget. Blade maintenance: The partially serrated edge of the combo blade can be more difficult to sharpen than a straight-edge blade. This may be a concern for those who are not experienced with blade maintenance.

I have been using the Spyderco Endura 4 for more than four years now with no issues. Its lightweight and keeps a good edge. It takes a little work to get it loose enough to open with a flick of the wrist, but once it breaks in, it opens fast. The handle has a good feel in your hand. The serrated portion of the blade is great for cutting paracord and webbing.
