Gear: Peak Designs Aluminum Travel Tripod

I have owned many Manfrotto and Benro tripods over the years. They were all great and served my needs, but I was looking for something more compact and lightweight to fit in my camera case and to travel with. I decided to give the Peak Designs Travel Tripod a shot after reading some good reviews. I have had it for 6 months now and used it every day with my Nikon Z7 II setup.

Category: Camera Gear

Weight: 3.44 lbs

Price Range: $349.95

Pros: Very Compact (15.5 in x 3.15 in), Made from Lightweight T6 aluminum alloy, holds up to 20 lbs., features ergonomic adjustment points, and Includes all the needed tools to adjust and maintain the tripod; which are integrated into the tripod. Integrated mobile phone holder, The Ballhead includes a very effective lock mechanism to keep your camera in place. Overall it is extremely well designed and has a Lifetime guarantee

Cons: The leg latch bolts loosen with constant use. I use the tripod daily and open and close it more than 5 times a day. So I need to tighten the screws about once a week. Due to its lightweight, I have had the wind blow the tripod over, so I highly recommend you use the included center column load hanging hook to hang some weight to secure the tripod in place.

UPDATE: The included adjustment tool has a holder on one of the legs under the ball head, this tool pops out easily. I had to use a Military rubber band to keep it in place
